I can't remember a recruiter or potential employer ever asking me if I had any MC* qualifications (I don't). I don't think it has held me back.
As a learning exercise I prefer to build real applications in my spare time and think I learn more that way. For example I have been using the new Razor view engine in MVC3 for the last month in a new project and I feel I get more value out of that than an exam. Craig.
