If it is installed and running as a service, it is working. Not much
more to it than that.

FWIW, I've had trouble in the past because I downloaded the wrong
version; check on the left here: http://windows.php.net/download/ make
sure you've got the correct one (according to the comment in the
sidebar).

Then, it may just be a matter of setting the appropriate environment
variables; and a machine restart can never hurt.
