Did you logoff and log back on?

The groups in your security token are populated when you logon.

Cheers

Subject: [OT] Domain groups ineffective

Oh well, here's another unbelievable and utterly incomprehensible problem on my
new domain. It seems that all new groups I create have no effect upon
permissions.

I created a Global Security Domain group called 'Software Developers' and put
myself into it. On my workstation I assign the group to various folders, but I
find that the permissions are not applied. I have verified this behaviour with
all new groups that I create. It's as if all new groups are empty and no
permissions are altered. The new groups are also ineffective in SQL Server
Security Logins.

Groups that I created weeks ago when the Win2008 R2 domain controller was
created behave correctly. New groups created in the last few days since I moved
to this new DC machine do not behave correctly.

As usual, I'm utterly flummoxed and this is a really serious problem for me.
Any ideas on this would be most welcome. As usual again, I have no idea who to
blame or where to look, so I'll just waste hours of unpaid time bumbling around

Greg
