The cover provided by ACS membership is sufficient for weekend/volunteer work, etc. If you intend it for your day job then you'll need something more comprehensive. ACS recommended me to a broker in NSW who gave me a good deal. Lots of options depending on the work (my current one jacked up the premimums for working for a mining company, so he suggested a switch. The new one is happy with mining companies but jacks up their premiums if you work for an ISP. I guess it all depends on who they've been burnt by in the past making see various industries as higher risk.)
Got my annual cost down to $1500 from $2200. cheers, Stephen On Thu, May 5, 2011 at 9:14 AM, Simon Hall <[email protected]> wrote: > Tejas, > > I believe membership to the ACS includes indemnity insurance. > > > > Kind Regards > > Simon Hall > > > > ________________________________ > > From: [email protected] > [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Tejas > Goradia > Sent: Thursday, 5 May 2011 10:37 AM > To: SQLDownUnder; ausDotNet > Subject: Any recommendation on where to get Professional Indemnity Insurance > for independant contractor working on ABN? > > > > Hi, > > > > Would appreciate if there are any pointers on things to know or reference > sites, material that could be useful for an independant contractor. > > > > Thanks, > > Tejas. > > Disclaimer Notice > > This message contains privileged and confidential information intended only > for the use of the addressee named above.
