I got a 120 GB SSD about 2 months ago (107 GB usable) and have been running with around 43 GB free space for most of that time.
I'm careful to keep my documents and photos on another drive but I do have a frequently used XP VM on there occupying about 8 GB. If I did a cleanup I could probably get away with a 60 GB drive if I had to, but for a development machine I'd really want 120 GB.
