Once you start using DotNetZip you'll never want to go back to SharpZip.
I’ve been playing with DotNetZip for 20 minutes and I already agree with you. SharpZipLib is now deprecated and remains for backward compatibility only. I have more information this matter which I’ll post about later. But basically, not only is SharpZipLib out of favour now, so is PKZIP. There is no managed code I can find that is compatible with PKZIP and advanced encryption. However, I have proved that DotnetZip is WinZip compatible and NOT PKZIP compatible with advanced encryption. I am therefore deprecating PKZIP as well. Times change! Greg
