Thanks for the help guys, ended up going with NetRegistry , lots of people recommended them after asking and searching round. About $34 for 2 years. No idea why MelbIT are so expensive
Oh and I couldn't find anywhere that would hide the whois info for .com.au domains, they can't be private.
