OK, I eventually found it after the links meski gave to MSDN led me round the houses (not your fault meski - it depends if user has selected solution or project in the project window, when clicking the project pull-down menu. Why don't they give a few illustrations?).
Now, I have always had this checkbox ON (ticked ./ checked), and have never had a problem related to keyboard or mouse, and I have re-installed VS2010 onto different machines with different CPU, etc due to hardware failure, etc. All has been fine with VS2010. It has been about 3 weeks trying to solve my vs2010 phanton keypress situation. Finally solved the issue, i just had to turn of the uncheck 'enable the visual studio hosting process'!! Used procmon to find this out....i didn't try to reinstall vs2010 cause it usually takes me 3 days to reinstall with all the addons etc and thats not fun. Anthony
