Thank you I will try the command line utility.
I discovered that by editing the project file directly rather than through Visual Studio I am able to set up several configurations, this solved an immediate need, but is useless for a one press of the button solution to deploy to all servers. The codeplex RSbuild utility is out of date as it refers only to 2005 reporting services - there was a problem with its reference to a relative path to the current directory when getting the FilePath from the config file, which is relatively easy to fix. But I've ditched the line of thought to enhance this project it as I would have to spend time I don't have to compile against 2008 report services.
