Folks, I received an email (part of which is below) that confuses me. I
renewed my MSDN premium two weeks and ago according to my Licensing web
page it makes sense: I can see the 2011 sub expiring in a few days and I
can see the new 2013 one active.

Now I've received an email telling me that my software assurance is
expiring and if I don't renew then I might have to delete or destroy my
media (who wants to come to a bonfire?!). The trouble is I don't know what
"Software Assurance" or "Open Business" is or how it relates to my MSDN
subscription. Nor do I recall taking assurance coverage 2 years ago. Can
anyone explain is concise terms what this stuff is and if I have to do
anything?

Urgent: Your Microsoft Software Assurance coverage is expiring

Your Open Business will be expiring on 31/05/2013. As outlined in your
agreement, there are two easy ways for you to continue using your Microsoft
software: 1.*Renew your agreement:* You can submit your renewal order, or
new agreement, to your Microsoft reseller. 2. *Exercise your buy-out option:
* You can elect your buy-out option to obtain perpetual licenses for
products listed under this agreement.
If Microsoft does not receive your renewal order or new agreement, your
license rights will be terminated. All copies of the products licensed and
associated media must be deleted and destroyed. We may request written
certification of this action.
