Ian (and Mike, and others), related to Regex, I just stumbled upon an old message from late May where Mike linked to this page: https://joindiaspora.com/posts/1653418 Which I now think is wickedly clever, especially the ones about threads and utf-8. The top quote about Regex making two problems has rubbed me the wrong way for years as I think it would only apply in the most extreme cases of misuse. Now I finally see the quote is from a guy Jamie Zawinski, and I see that many other quotes of his are a bit askew and can't be taken too seriously.
I'd like to add to the Two Problems list: *Some people when confronted with a problem, think, I'll use complex numbers, now the problem is imaginary.* Greg
