Admonish is such a strong word. I even had to look it up. :) Remember the renewal price is around half of the initial price. I got my initial Premium at upgrade price as a special deal. What I find a bit annoying is there is no way to switch levels of msdn. You basically have to get the new one at the full price and let the old one expire. They need to look at what a lot of the smaller subscription based services are doing (such as Pluralsite etc) where you can switch between plans and keep the same license/account going. I guess they don't want you upgrading, downloading all the Ultimate stuff and then dropping to the professional plan. All this stuff dials home these days so I'm sure they could figure it out.
