I have just installed VS2015 RC on a fresh Windows 8.1 VM. Launching VS2015 gives the 'XamarinShellPackage' load error followed by a NullReferenceException, which is repeated when you attempt to create a new Xamarin dependent project.
Hmmm! I just made a Console app to prove VS is working. When I hit F5 to run it I get a dialog telling me my Xamarin trial has ended and I have to use Starter or purchase a subscription. I choose Starter edition. After restarting VS2015 and creating an Android project I get "Required service EnvDTE.DTE not found" and nothing happens. So something is really up sh*t creek here. Can anyone confirm that Xamarin based VS2015 RC projects actually work? There must be people out there using VS to create Android and iOS apps, so how the hell are you doing it? I'm curious because I'd like to get it working before the Hack day on Saturday. *Greg K*
