Folks, is it possible to invite arbitrary people to collaborate on my
DevOps project's Work Items without them having to create a Microsoft
account?

I ran a quick experiment with a spare Gmail account. I sent an invitation
to join the Organization, but when I click the link I am asked to sign-in
to a Microsoft account. The people I'm inviting will not have such accounts
and I don't want to drive them mad asking for something like that.

The documentation on DevOps is so large and scatterbrained that I can't
even work out these basic things:

   - Can I invite arbitrary people via email address to a project? (as
   stated above)
   - Can I set permissions so they can only manipulate Work Items and can't
see repos and other private areas?
   - At what "level" does a user need to be added? At the parent
   Organization or at the project?
   - What's the relationship between Groups and Teams?

DevOps videos and docs never explain the "big picture" of how it all hangs
together. It's like stumbling into a fully functioning 10-storey factory,
but you have no idea where anything is or how it works.
