I contacted Ian about the lack of a discussion document and he said to send ASIMs in anyway.The Premier and the Minister had not approved it's release last Friday, but I haven't looked since. Do you have a copy of the DoH discussion document? I took the ASIM one down to a friend to show her yesterday (thought I'd finished with it) but she gave me some advice about change which would guarantee more attention being paid to the document.... so here I go again... I'm heartily sick of the thing. but it is shaping up now and we have so much to lose if we don't put it in. My friend has put lots of Government submissions forward in the past thinks that the pragmatic approach that the NSWMA is taking is the best one, and that we should be aiming for a Nurses and Midwives Act at this time.. then the women and the public will take up the issue for a Midwives Act at a later date..when we become better known to them. Perhaps she is right.... but I am ever conscious of time running out and we are losing our professional identity fast. I'll put the document out on the ozmidwifery line asap.
