Religion is part of many people's lives and is
indeed a great influence on many women's lives. If we ignore this topic
and the influence it has on the lives of these women then we are not treating
them wholistically.
Some midwives chose to ignore this topic, but
let us remember it is the women's choice not ours.
Besides the Senate enquiry could be said to be
far from many birthing women's mind as they face childbirth, some scared from
religious practices or empowered by the forces behind the belief.
