problems in the health system with concerns raised
over a possible budget overrun just one month

taken the child to doctors nine times in four

determine if someone has recently handled
cannabis. The University of Queensland school of
pharmacy and the National Heart Foundation are

some doctors and scientists over the health
effects of the microwave radiation emitted by
mobile phones. A study in Britain found that the
popular Nokia models emit more radiation than
                       Motorola  model.  Intvs: Peter French,  researcher;

9/8 1830 ATN7 Residents raise over $1 million for health care.
Report on Culburra residents who have raised more
than a million dollars for their own health care.
When the NSW Government designed a new ambulance
station which the residents paid for, the
residents presumed they would at least be provided
with an ambulance. Residents still have to wait
half an hour for the nearest ambulance in Nowra to
arrive to their town. Intvs: Evelyn Rogers,

9/8 1230 2BL Microbiologist warns of HIV spread.
Microbiologist David Baltimore says the spread of
HIV is the most important health issue in the
world at the moment. Baltimore does not think that
clinical trials are presently dealing with the
right candidates and wants to connect clinical
trial networks to the research base in the near
future. Baltimore is confident that a vaccine will
be developed to fight this virus and that it will
be available to developing countries. Intv: David
