                       Health  and Aged Care has admitted that its nursing
                       home  means-tested  fees has  raised  $129  million

                       two.  A  truck driver, high on stimulants  when  he
                       crashed  into a car, killing two, has been sent  to
                       jail  for a period of two and a half years, with  a
                       minimum parole period of 22 months.

Lyall Johnson    pA6   Nitschke   comes  under  fire.  Vic  Premier   Jeff
                       Kennett  has criticised euthanasia advocate Phillip
                       Nitschke  over  his support for the right  for  12-
                       year-olds to choose euthanasia.

                 p30   Child might have been saved. The NSW coroner John
                       Abernethy has found that the death of three year
                       old Curtis Whitting might have been prevented if
                       Manly Hospital had had a paediatric ward.

                       Minister  Rhonda  Parker has produced  evidence  to
                       support   her   claim  that  their  was   political

                       Clinical  psychologist Brad Johnston said yesterday

                       that   60,000  Australians  joined  private   heath
                       insurance  schemes  between  March  and  June  this
                       year.  However the proportion of Australians  under
                       private  health  cover remained stable  at  30  per

Barry Hailstone  p4    Terminally  Ill  hit  by cost saving.  Doctors  and
                       patients  at Flinders Medical Centre have  attacked
                       the decision not to use the radiotherapy clinic  at
