Dear Andrea,
Indeed I don't want to get into a "slinging match" either. I have
respect for all our midwifery colleages on this line. But I must say
that I also work in an 'instituitional environment'. We at this
hospital have replaced the word delivered with birth and yes I still do
not fill in the non-communicative partogram, it forces Drs. to read the
notes and gain a true insight into the birthing journey underway. I
have found that this initiates conversation and interaction and assists
with a better communicated understanding of what is truly happening.
I thank the doctors who I work WITH and my colleagues some who will
readily agree with my format of notes and to those who don't alike.
