Satsang interest - www.vartman.com

Namaskar,

Here is an excerpt from the last day of the Byron Bay retreat.

*************************************************************
Namaskar Welcome to satsang

Here we are.last moments of the retreat.

I don't know if many of you know much about cars but there is a thing
that you can buy and bolt on your car called a turbo charger. you can make
your Ford Escort go like a Porsche..... for about 3 weeks. (laughter)

The problem is if you push things that aren't meant to go that fast they
invariably blow up.

Well humans seem to have the ability to turbo charge life with a thing
called the mind.

By using thoughts, imagination, fantasising and hoping we can tell
ourselves great stories about how well we are doing things, how great we
are at controlling life and how impressive we are. The result is that we
can appear to make life far more juicy, fast and flashy.

This would be great if we could sustain this.. the problem is that you
can't push the river forever... and when we give up the thoughts start to
chase us.

It seems like these are the times that we realise that we have turned our
back on the peace and quiet of resting in who we are.... and with so much
vested interest in our thoughts it appears almost impossible to leave them
alone.

The price of turbo-charging life is the unique human experience of mental
suffering.

So last night there was a trap laid for you. After a week of silence and
relative isolation we had dancing, conversation and no structure. Of
course in this release there is a champagne effect of release and
celebration... only natural. The real lesson is you can be aware that at a
certain point your mood and feelings exhausted themselves. Instead of
letting it go and returning to your natural state of resting in This,
there was a clinging to the good times....the Peace of who we are was just
too boring, and besides it
will always be there later when we need it. . right now life is great, I'm
great... I'll get back to It when I need it.

I have seen that over the last few days especially virtually all of you
have recognised who you are and even muttered this blasphemy that "There
is always happiness here now."

So I ask the question and we will see how many honest people there are
here.. How many of you are aware that you turned your backs on This last
night in search for something better..

(half the participants raise their hands)

This is how the experience is lost. Not in the dark times but abandoned in
the good times to pursue our mind interpreted version of "our lives" of
look what I can do with this stillness and this open heart...

The beauty of this realisation is that Love will never abandon you... only
you can put your attention on something else that you think that you want
more than to rest in your pure nature.
