Dear Rosalee, Here in England, midwives who are qualified to use ventouse are called midwife ventouse practitioners (MVPs). Catherine Charles is a MVP at Devizes Maternity Unit, Wiltshire, England, who has lots of info and experience and I am sure will be keen to assist you. Unfortunately I do not know if she has an e-mail address. At the hospital where I am, ventouse is used for maternal exhaustion, but pushing is also encouraged so the woman does not feel un-empowered.
