Does anyone have any tips on establishing lactation for the non birth mother of a
lesbian couple? I have found a few articles for adoptive breasfeeding and discussed
stimulation by pumping and the baby suckling. The birth mother is going to be home to
feed till the end of the year and will then return to work and the other mother will
then take care of the baby. It is not imperative that she makes all of the milk as she
will be able to take the baby to the workplace of her partner but it would be helpful.
I suggested that she would be able to do a few feeds during the day and then the birth
mother could feed her when she gets home.
Thanks
Jackie
