Hi all fellow listers,
"The Travelling Midwife"and her beautiful family stopped off here at Geelong
yesterday as part of the "Birth Matters Tour".
Vicki was just awesome last night in her declaration that YES BIRTH MATTERS!!!
Truly an advocate for women and birth and an amazing activist. Her display of
strength and courage and outright dogged determination to make a difference
and to call to others to join with her to effect change is powerful stuff!!!
Its amazing how things all come together.
I feel somewhat overwhelmed today at Vicki's passion and raw honesty. To bare
witness and be present, truly present at such a personal sharing of 'self'
and for what it means to be truly 'with woman' was awe inspiring. This time
shared with Vicki I will remember always as something for me that was truly
profound in nature. Her words touched the core of my being and resonated
throughout my body affirming for me what it is that I know of what it means
to be midwif - 'with woman'.
As I wrote on a card I gave to Vicki - "To follow the magic that's in ones
heart - is to become the inspiration for ones life". Never a truer word was
spoken as it would prove to be!!
Power to the woman!!!!
