Dear Ozmidders, AIMS Australia will hold its AGM (Annual General Meeting) this Saturday, 2pm at my place (17 Pinewood Street, Geebung, Brisbane). Agenda available on request. The last year has been an exciting one for AIMS. We have sought to re-establish AIMS as a national organisation by having a rep for each state. We have "linked up" with many organisations to work together on maternity issues (ASIM, Maternity Coalition, Friends of the Birth Centre (Bris), Homebirth Network of SA, Homebirth Access Sydney, and Birthrites to list a few). Are you a member of AIMS? It will cost you just $25 to join and you will receive the AIMS journal quarterly. We are looking for some new National Committee members, and State Reps. Our National Committee is made up of seven members, which meets 4 times a year and our streamlined approval procedures ensure that we can act quickly when necessary. Our campaign on the independent midwives insurance will commence after the AGM. So join AIMS, and consider serving for a year on the committee or acting as a representative for your state.
