Elizabeth and others,
I put in a submission as a nurse and a midwife clinician to the senate
enquiry. At the recent QNU annual conference recently feedback was only 900
submissions had been made and most were from Queensland!!! We are our own worse
enemies or are we just tired? I'm sure most felt it was only for nurses.
It wasn't a flash submission, more what I was feeling and seeing as a
nurse and midwife. I cannot say too much as a result but at one part I referred
to my frustration that a senate enquiry on childbirth had not changed
anything.
I had a reply from an assistant to look at the government reply to
the Rocking the Cradle senate enquiry, which I tried to attached (too long
and bounced by the administrator). Sorry too long to send as mail. I hadn't seen
this before. I was surprised with this been made so long after the initial
senate report and my initial response in reading "more flaming committees and no
action".
