Beloved listers, I have just returned from an 8 week journey to Far north Queensland with my kids, my dog and three equally crazy friends in my kombi. What an adventure. I went and found my soul in the land, and it's people. I found other people travelling this land practicing their own shamanism, their own paths to spiritual truth and we collectively connected with some Aboriginal people who allowed us a brief glimpse into their culture. I feel so lucky... How does this relate to midwifery...through my message to live your truth. Walk your talk. Do it now as completely as you can...not later. Humans seem to thrive on drama, made from fear, anger, ignorance etc. We are a wierd lot. We are all here to learn to love ourselves and to remember who we really are, to control our responses to our emotions and realise that they are a tool if only we learn how to use them properly, and detatch from the ego which is after all only a tool for survival. In this last journey among shamans and elders, I learned to connect with the spirits of the land in each place, to recognise the signs which nature gives us and ultimately to trust and have faith in nature and the spirits which guide us (a higher consciousness, if you like). There are many ways in which THIS relates to midwifery. One might be that I now notice how built up areas, eg cities, and certain buildings have cut us off from these nature spirits so that we cannot "flow" and become cut off (and often emotional and confused) as a result. Another is that when a person is in an adversarial situation, if we are feeling that place within of great trust and love, (Self love) and communicate from this place, others become more willing to listen and negotiate. It is a space of deep respect for Self and all beings, therefore the energy of any exchange is not confrontational but supportive though the content of the exchange may be conflicting. I guess what I am trying to say is that the system will not change untill we, individually AND collectively, change something inside of ourselves. Look within and if you are consistently finding yourself feeling angry, or sad, or struggling, chances are that this is your energy and you have found a situation in which you can express it, seemingly justifyably. The bummer of it is, we carry this energy and cause the situations to unfold so that we CAN emote. Ultimately we are all creative beings able to manifest our deepest desires and fears. Midwifery will change when enough of the collective has changed themselves. Are you going to lead the way by taking responsibilty for your own emotions and thoughts? Beleive this: if a large group of humans gets together and focuses energy on a certain thought or idea and has complete faith in it, it WILL manifest. Truth is recognisable because it resonates deep in your heart and soul. So I challenge you to pass through your anger and tears for midwives and birthing women and babies and focus on your vision of the perfect future living and birthing consciously, truthfully, lovingly and in full awareness; feel the wave of gladness and love return to your hearts and BELEIVE that this vision will be a reality. Work from this reality and make it happen for those connecting with YOU. Some of you may have to love yourselves simply for doing the best you can in your situation, and tha's great too because it could be a lot worse if YOU were not there in your dignity and deep respect and love for EVERYONE around you. This is not about politics or policies; it is about experiences which create a deeply feelt response and if we each aim to create around us the most loving, trusting feelings in ourselves and others, we are off to a great start in changing ourselves and the world around us. Blessed birthing, Marina _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp -- This mailing list is sponsored by ACE Graphics.
