I would like very much to know more about birth centres in Australia.
I was not able to know very much about birth centres in U.K. : not how many
they are, nor statistics about them.
I should like to know how many birth centres you have in Australia. I should
like to know how many 'stand alone' birth centres (not next to a hospital)
there are.
Also I should like to know as much as possible about perinatal deaths or
women's death in birth centres.
How do you define a birth centres?
I am trying to set up with a group of midwives a public 'stand alone' birth
centres in Florence-Italy. Of course when the birth centre will be set there
will be no doctors. So doctors, politicians, administrators and even many
midwives, are against it and say that it will be a disaster for women and
babies.
I thank you for helping me to know more about birth centres and some
statistics. You are very kind.

Thank you all,

Andrea
