Internet labour pain study - a first

Which pain control methods work best in childbirth? A new internet-based study into labour pain led by Christopher France, a professor of health psychology at Ohio University, aims to find out. While it is not the first study to explore this, it is the first to enrol women worldwide via the internet. The online survey at www.labourpain.org is open to women of any age who have given birth or who currently are pregnant. It asks mothers and mothers-to-be about various pain control techniques, including breathing exercises, epidurals and other pain-relief medications, distraction techniques, meditation and a host of other mechanisms often used to control pain during labour and delivery.
