What a great story and to have such an interesting past.I have something to 
add that I read from a great aunts diary. Not quite as interesting as your 
story Tina but quaint all the same.

This was written in 1920 in Victoria.

FOR THE MIDWIFE

6 yards Flannelette               -  15 Shillings
1.5 yards Flannel and thread      -  5 shillings and 9 pence
1 Bath                            -  10 shillings
1 yard Mcaintosh sheet            -  5 shillings and 9 pence
11.5 yards Flannelette            -  1 pound 10 shillings
4.5 yards Radiant                 -  1 pound, 11 shillings and 1 penny
Thread                            -  1 shilling and 6 pence
Basket and Drapings               -  18 shillings and 9 pence
Enema                             -  8 shillings and 6 pence
Mrs Pascoe                        -  1 pound


Hows that for a budget!
I wonder if Mrs Pascoe had any PI. ?
