Hello listers, Over the past few months, I have noticed that the number of active messages to the list has been decreasing. I've also been frustrated to see that some requests for help/ideas etc don't seem to get replies. Then there comes a message from the original requester saying something like "thanks everyone for your input...". It seems that many of you are replying off-list rather than to the list. If you do this then the you are not being very helpful for us other listers who are eagerly awaiting your ideas and responses so we know what the story is....
Please remember too that this list is also used by many students (and even more next year when the B Mid programs get going) who use it as a valuable resource. If people reply privately then these students miss out (like the rest of us). If the original request or conversation starts on the list then all replies should come directly to the list. Another point - there is no need to cc everyone on your private email address book as well - this costs you money and takes time. If you reply to the list alone, everyone gets the message anyway! I get messages from several of you automatically in both places - my ozmidwifery folder and my In box .... Yours in midwifery (well, honorary...)
