there was a study done by Jane Fisher at Melbourne
Uni in 1997 called "Adverse psychological impact of operative obstetric
interventions:a prospective longitudinal study" Australian & New Zealand
Journal of Psychiatry 1997; 31:728-738
Well worth a read. These sorts of studies
should be published in the O&G journals!!
