Hi Janine, I would expect you would be on a similar rate to newly graduated RN's who of course also have a degree but are regarded as junior practitioners.  It would depend on which state you are working in.... contact any major hospital which should be able to provide you with the going rate.  (Don't get too excited, it's not that good but the shift penalties help).  Cheers, Lois

Subject: pay rates for midwives?

Hi everyone,

I am about to begin the BMid program at ACU in Melbourne. I was wondering if anyone could help me with something - what would be the rates of pay for current midwives, ranging from grad year up to Clinical midwife/nurse specialists??? As I am not a member of the ANF, I am unable to access this information. I realise that BMid pay rates may or may not be applicable, but was keen to get a general idea.....

Regards,
Janine
