Hi all.....
I have just returned home after spending the last 22 hours 'with woman', in one of the most privileged experiences of my life....oh the journey's women take us on with them!!
To see a woman with such resolve and dogged determination to birth her baby albeit ultimately by caesarean section, has again affirmed for me the 'power of woman'. Plagued by voices of discontent to her informed choice of a VABC with the constant threats of 'dead babies' and 'ruptured uterus', 'unravelling scars', brain damaged babies...bla bla bla....., this woman remained committed to giving it her all and more......only when she was ready, and not before, only then she could say I can now do no more.....and some 32 hours later concedes HER birth must be this way, did she surrender to her will and drive to continue - climaxing with an emergency C/S under GA....
I feel truly honoured to have born witness to this amazing woman's strength and resolve in her abilities to give it her all and to have worked alongside 'with her' and the midwives who supported her in this quest....
