I made some comments about the history of trends in medical care on another list which have been taken as derogatory comments about all midwives and doctors in hospitals, which was not intended.
I know there are many wonderful doctors and midwives maintaining "informed" care.
Then to add to my lack of tact I accidentally forwarded a copy to this list!!
I meant to forward another posting recieved from another ok source.
Again I apologise and take this as a message that I need to withdraw and settle before use these fingers.
So I am withdrawing from this list.

I am saddened to see that you are/have withdrawn from the ozmidwifery list. I am unaware of any negative comments via the list to your posting...in which you raise some very valid points.....which can only lead me to conclude that you have received 'private communications' in response to your comments that fellow listers for whatever reason, felt they could not /would not share with the rest of us.....Having had 'hate mail' sent in the past to some of my comments here on the list and to me personally AT HOME through the post...may I suggest in the future that you forward these comments to the list...list etiquette requires that all correspondence generated via the list should come back via the list....perhaps if people new that their sneaky unwelcomed 'hate mail' was going to be aired publicly then they would perhaps think twice!!
I empathise completely with your position on this, however wish to encourage you to return to the list when you feel ready and continue on with your fantastic support and encouragement and information sharing that I have grown to over the last year or two to value deeply....
