Perhaps you could use to look at the idea of "BRAN" - Benefits, Risks,
Alternatives, or doing nothing, when faced with making a decision e.g.
induction, asking for an epidural etc. etc.

Can I borrow this? One of the classes I teach we talk about the issue of
informed consent and informed choice - this is a really easy way to remember
the pertinent points.

Please do.

It is one of the main things that we - as NCT (National Childbirth Trust in the UK) teachers - enforce, that is  "use informed choice in all your decisions".  Most NCT teachers will introduce the "BRAN: concept in classes - through a variety of teaching ideas.  In fact, our whole teaching is around the issue of informed choice.  It is very simple, but, for adults as learners, "BRAN" is a very easy thing to think of -  in labour - when everything may be difficult.

Use and enjoy.
