When you give the oxytocic the management isn't physiologic anymore.  The
cord blood the baby was getting physiologically is normal but when you give
the oxytocic the uterus responds with an unphysiologic contraction. Maybe
forcing more cord blood into the baby's body?  That's how I rationalise it.
