On 24 march Debbie Slater sent me,via the ozmidwifery list, some references about antenatal classes which might help. Rautauva et al (1991) The outcomes and experiences of first pregnancy in relation to mothers childbirth knowledge: The Finnish Family Competence Study. Journal of Advanced Nursing 16:1226-1232 concluded that women who were informed about childbirth coped better with labour and had healthier babies than those who were not as well informed.
