Hi everyone I am not a midwife, I wonder if it is ok for me to be in this list regardless, as the points discussed here are of interest to me. Sally, when you mentioned the "Kangaroo Mother Care" , I just wonder if this is the same method that was initially developed in South America. If so, I am familiar with it. I am the mother of a 13 month baby boy and now I am expecting a new baby who is estimated to be born in the early days of October. I am originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and live in Western Australia. For those who are in Perth, I had my baby at the Rockingham Family Hospital last year. I have a friend who had hers at a "birthing centre" but that one if a bit distant for me to go to. I wonder if anyone in here knows of a birthing centre that is located at least south of the river. I live in the Rockingham area, in Warnbro, to be exact. I have a number of questions about the substances used in an epidural anesthesia, which I will ask later if it is ok with the list management.
