My cousin is 8 months pregnant. Up until about a month ago, she was opting
for an elev c/s, on the grounds that she had a horrible birth experience
with her 1st, and was afraid. There was no medical reason. I attended an
antenatal with her, and the midwife even said to her "It sounds as though
you ought to have a c/s". I have tried everything to change her mind and
convince her to go vaginal, but she wouldnt. Until a month ago, someone
told her it took weeks to recover (I did too, but it just didnt get through
it seems). So, now we have her going vaginal, but she doesnt even believe
she will go into labour. She is already wanting an induction, and is
complaining because she only sees the ob fortnightly. She WANTS to see him
more often. She seriously believes that there is something wrong with
pregnancy and childbirth, that it is very risky and life threatening. I
just dont know what to say to her. Any suggestions?
