practical questions

Hello.  I've been offered an internal transfer from biomed sci into BMid for next year, but Im still not exactly sure what I want to study (Education, Midwifery).  Can anyone tell me what kind of salary you would expect as a midwife (all increments, private or hospital).  Does it ever got boring and repetitive (what job doesnt really!), is there tonnes of paper work?  What kind of future is there for midwifery?  Anything else you can think of that would help me decide.  Thanks a million.
