Hiya. Happy long weekend! Just wondering if anybody can give me any
information about lactational ammenhorea, and when women can expect their
periods back. Whats the longest amount of time you've heard of women
resuming menstruation after breastfeeding? Are there any disorders (ex.
hormonal, premature menopause) that women can get postnatal/post
breastfeeding that would cause menstruation to cease? Thanks!

May I introduce myself, as I have been lurking around this list for some time now,
absorbing all of the wonderful discussions!
My name is Megan Tan and I am in my very early days of training as a childbirth
educator.
I have been waiting for all the experts to reply to your question before adding my
humble offering.
I know of a woman (relative of a friend!) who has been unable to conceive since
the birth of her second son some seven or so years ago, as her periods never
returned. I believe that she is only in her thirties and that a 'hormonal imbalance'
is responsible. I'm sorry that I don't have any more information on the condition,
just that I think that it does exist.
