Well this one really got my goat. As most of you know my first baby was delivered by caesarean and I had my 2nd naturally which was very satisfying for me and from all the medical research I read the safest way for Jack to be born.
Basically I had the choice, which fortuneately for me was and still is supported in Australia. Our sisters in some parts of America are not so fortuneate and are now being denied this choice of how to birth their babies. This is primarily being driven by the obstetricians and hospitals fear of litigation and is not supported by medical evidence. Remember that often what starts in the US spreads to other Western countries.
VBAC may not be your choice and that should be respected - but equally for those who do want it their choice should also be respected. This petition is to try and stop women being denied this choice and to allow them to continue to have safe VBACs in hospitals in the US.
