Dear Andrea
Do you mean HCF? Who is HBA?
Just contact the Provider Services Manager at HCF and get yourself a
provider number.
That's all you need to do.
Then you print it on your practice stationary and your business cards to let
your clients know you have one.

You can contact all of the private health funds and request a provider
number. Most will give you one although Medibank Private is not likely to
oblige until you have proof that you have PI insurance.
