I had a colicky / reflux wingey baby who fed for long periods and slept for very short ones for the first 8 weeks of life. My nipples were badly damaged due to her resistance to allow my nipple back far enough in her mouth probably due to the excessive suctioning she received at birth. She would only fed in one position and fought the breast if I tried to put her on differently. She also slept better on her tummy or mine for that matter and often that was the only way for me to get a decent 1-1/2hrs sleep between feeds at night. Having tried all the products available over the counter and not wanting to resort to prescription meds I finally sought help for a highly recommended Osteopath / Chiropractor (he has heaps of other hats but I cant remember them now). My mother drove me the 2 hrs to get there (I snoozed in the car) and paid for us to see him. It was like he swapped my baby for a completely new one. She had the equivalent of a pinched nerve in her neck he attributed probably to her birth (posterior labour followed by a vaginal breach birth she was frank breach from 34 weeks). The colic settled the reflux remained but she no longer projectile vomited and best of all she slept in any position I put her for 2-4 hours between pain free more effective feeds. I would strongly recommend you give it a try, the only thing would be make sure your osteopath / chiro is experiences with handling babies and confident in doing so. My daughter has just turned 3 and No 2 is on the way and again we will make the journey to see this man but this time before the problems are as bad.

Good luck
