Hi Rochelle: No need to apologize. It was an interesting read and I wouldn't have persevered if I wasn't intrigued. I thought it was worth the battle to get through. I think they (Midwifery Today) must have been cleaning up their site the first time i tried because it kept freezing and was very frustrating, however the next day it was no trouble at all. I think some web sites are too big and they freak out sometimes, just guessing as I have really no idea how they work. Thanks for the post. It was interesting to read the posts from the midwives in the USA who are such 'champions' of individual rights, it brought back memories. Being an advocate for gun control and being a supporter of midwifery regulation (even if it goes against myself) I was always just a little out of step over there.  marilyn

Subject: [ozmidwifery] my apologies

Dear Mary M, Marilyn and list,

I apologise for the goose chase in tracking down the elusive post from www.midwiferytoday.com written by the father (Marc Ramsden) which outlines the care or lack of, that he and his partner received from Gloria Lemay during the birthing of their son.

I, like Marilyn, tried to get the post to the list for all to access without any luck. I also experienced the site freezing up on me on a couple of occasions. However I have accessed  this post via the steps below without any trouble just prior to posting this on the list.
  • Midwifery Today Forums (top of page)
  • Legal Battles and Birth Politics
  • Midwife Gloria Lemay's Legal Battles (page 3)
  • entry by Marc dated 16th August @ 7:17 (15th entry down on the page)
I guess his story really shocked me and I was just interested to hear from anyone that might know something more about this case.

Kind regards

Rochelle.
