I know that some of you will read what I am about
to say in the wrong context: so I am just going to flag it with I AM PRO NATURAL
BIRTH AND DON'T AGREE WITH ELECTIVE CS WITHOUT GOOD CAUSE!
BUT! at the moment I am seeing how dam hard
it is to try and achieve a natural vaginal birth in the current system.
For most women , the horrors of 'natural' child birth - you know the
ones...inductions, epidurals, cuts tears and so forth...being confined to a bed
and being scarred to death- are simply unavoidable. I am tempted to write
10 reasons why you should have a cs...all ten will be "cause you have buckleys
chance of having a natural birth in the current system and even less
likely to access midwifery led care, cause it seems to be for an allusive 'low
risk' selection of women...most of us don't class as 'low risk' cause we are too
tall, or have a potential problem."
the discussion recently was why women choose
elective cs...for most women, look at the choice? Be subjected to all the
wonders of medical science to end with having a cs anyway?
BRING ON NMAP! We need to let women know that
there IS an alternative to the medical model of butchery..opps I meant
care!
Sorry everyone, I am just absolutely beside myself
with frustration at the current system And it seem that SA is going to be
setting a new standard of authoritarian care with the new 'perinatal protocols'
that is proving to show that all women who have a uterus is considered high
risk. Birth Centres it seems will end up as coat closets for all they will
be 'allowed' to take.
We need to get nmap up and
happening!!!
I am going to go and take a DEEP breath and
restore my faith by listening to some of the wonderful stories of natural births
that you wonderful women share on this list. If anyone wants to tell me
more about some beautiful birth, please do so!!!! I need the
encouragement!
ranting and raving, venting and needing
faith,
