I don't know about comparing elective surgery
(whatever surgery that may be) with having to pay higher for car insurance if
you live in a high crime area. Often, people live where they do because of
reasons other than being able to afford it. A lot of areas of high crime
are populated by those least able to afford higher insurance; lack of
money being the only reason many live in those areas. However, I'm all for
paying for elective surgery when it's elective. (Says she who thinks it's insane
to cut the body open without it being a life or death situation.)
