Great story, it restores your faith that women can have and we as
midwives need
I had a similar faith restoring experience of a G2 in private hospital,
she had an epidural with her first birth.
When she rang up mid Sunday afternoon asking to come in for an
"internal" to speed things up, I asked to look out the window and see
the beautiful day and which would she prefer an 'internal' or a nice
leisurely stroll!
She chose the latter and came in around 6pm (8cms dilated) after an hour
she was asking for an epidural (but so close to delivery), with the
support of myself and her partner she had a wonderful normal delivery
Outcome
Beautiful baby girl, ecstatic father and a very proud woman with renewed
faith in herself and a happy midwife too

Shame the ob didn't get to the delivery on time!!!!
