Subject: [ozmidwifery] Alice's Baby!

Hello, All!

Had a call this morning from my Active Birth student, Alice. Gorgeous baby girl was born this morning at 5 a.m. at Adelaide's Women's and Children's Hospital, after a beautiful, peaceful, strong labour at home. She and her man are absolutely over the moon, so so so happy with how it all went. Jonathan rang me just after she'd rung me -- he went home for a few hours' sleep about 8:00, only to find he was too excited to sleep. He didn't know Alice had rung. I feel very honoured that I was the first each of them rang (apart from parents).

Not only that, but they gave birth on my son Leslie's birthday!!! yes, it's 19 years today since I first had that wonderful experience. As I told Alice and Jonathan, that's very special to me, not only because of the special day, but also because they're my first Active Birth couple since I decided to return to the birthing scene a few months ago.

Guess who's a happy vegemite today!!!

Aviva
