Don't know if this is the norm but I had the spinal block inserted
between contractions and had to stop them because of contractions ("Like
stop hurting my back i am trying to cope with a contraction - the last
thing I need now is someone hurting me too.!")
My husband said that it was still contracting and the fluid gushed
out in spurts as the uterus contracted as they pulled george out.
Having polyhydramnious they were big gushes!
So he was sure it was still contracting.

Caesar Question
Just one out of interest, and I realise it's not the
specialty of this forum, however thought that someone may
know.
Since a C-sec has recently occurred to someone close to me,
I'm curious...
Is the uterus still contracting during surgery, or
is some form of drug administered to stop it? If it is still
contracting, do they pick baby out between contractions, or it doesn't
make any difference, and they get baby despite contractions
occurring?
